1.1.4 Connection

1.1.4.1 How to connect UPS / network :

◗ Insert the optional card in the UPS / STS and connect the device to the computer network.

◗ Start the MGE UPS / STS, then the computers.

1.1.4.2 Setting up the protection, for UPS only

◗ Set up the Network Management Card (see user manual).

◗ Install Network Shutdown Module on all machines that are to be protected by the UPS (supplied with UPS

battery backup power).

The software components for each platform and the user manuals are supplied free-of-charge on the Solution-

Pac 2 CD are available or for download on the www.apc.com Web site.

1.2 Presentation of the Network Management Cards (NMC)

MGE provides one form factors for its Network Management Cards :
